Climate changes can't be stopped.

Climate has always changed, and we, the mankind, has always adapted and therefore organized our societys to withstand the climate changes. It's really easy, adapt or die.

If you know your history, you know that the water levels under some periods has been 100 meters higher and lower than today. Could our modern technological civilisation cope with it? Yes, if we prepare.

With prepare I mean not only "recycle, ride bikes, etc". That alone should not be enough. We have to invent new technologies for transport, energy and food production, like Vertical Farming.

Synchronicity led me to your book at my library. I have just begun reading Voices of the Earth and the way you write about nature is perfectly descriptive and poetic; very few authors of our age can write with such vision! I've never met anyone personally, outside of a New Age shop near my home, who can feel the grass and trees and rocks as though they are alive. Of course, I had to look you up and I found your blog! Diane, the American version will be released in the US in August. I did see that Amazon has a few shipped from NY, so much lower shipping and a good used price, but it is the Anglicized version. Depends on which one you want. :-)

lovely, Clea. I hope your book is available soon in the US. We're in the back country where we have horseback riders almost as often as cars going by. We plan to get chickens ourselves this spring and I'm hoping your book will give us some insight into their care. Can't wait for that "calm."

Hi Clea,
I am not really commenting directly on this blog, but simply have a strong need to connect. I have recently moved to Denver with my daughter, leaving my son and husband in other towns for a few months. I am a nature intuitive - a new term for me, but fits perfectly - and recently discovered your books and blogs. I am thrilled about what you have to say, as it's been fairly rare for me to read or talk to anyone who so nearly voices my own beliefs. I would love to correspond with you every now and again.
I had chickens for several years, and loved them so much. I have no place for any now, but hope to again soon. I am a pagan homeschooling mom, though my kids are much older than yours, my youngest being 14.
I am ordering one of your books today, and hopefully will find you receptive when I've read it if I want to contact you and chat.

Wow! I just found your blog and I LOVE it. I was lucky enough to have a Positive Parenting co-op preschool with my kids... where the parents were taught these methods, we were actually the students in this preschool. It was the best experience I ever had. That said, I still struggle every day to keep my cool when parenting my 6 and 4 year olds.

You are right... parenting is the hardest, but most self-reflective therapy you could have... if you can see it that way and use the information that you get back... many people just perpetuate what they learned from their parents... they know no other way, nor can they imagine that there is one.

Clea, do you know if berry bushes like low nitrogen or high nitrogen? It seems I read something about nitrogen being a crucial factor for blueberries. Anyway, bindweed is rampant in the part of the yard where we want to plant our berry bushes, so that would give me a clue as to the nitrogen content of that soil.
